Job Description
A skilled Welding Technician is needed in the Peachtree City area to support equipment maintenance and facility operations. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of welding and fabrication tasks, ensuring repairs and projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
Welding Technician Responsibilities
- Perform arc, MIG, and TIG welding in multiple positions, selecting appropriate rods, wires, gases, and settings to achieve strong and reliable welds.
- Carry out cutting operations using oxy-fuel, plasma, or saw equipment with attention to accuracy and material integrity.
- Interpret prints and instructions to complete fabrication assignments with minimal supervision.
- Inspect and maintain welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Apply safe work practices consistently, assessing potential risks and adjusting work methods to protect people, equipment, and facilities.
- Document repair and maintenance activities as required.
Welding Technician Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, plus 2–4 years of welding experience, or an equivalent combination of training and practical application.
- Proficiency in arc, MIG, and TIG welding techniques, including the ability to independently select consumables and adjust parameters for different materials.
- Experience with fabrication and cutting tools, including oxy-fuel and plasma systems.
- Ability to read and follow safety guidelines, technical instructions, and equipment manuals; capable of completing routine written documentation.
- Strong math skills, including fractions and decimals, applied to measurement and layout work.
- Physically able to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 75 lbs; comfortable working in hot environments, at heights, and around fumes, vibration, or other industrial conditions.
