SENIOR ESTIMATOR

Location: St. George, UT

Reports to: Southern Construction Area Manager

Compensation: $120 - $150K + Bonus

Your Role:

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to play a key role in securing and managing large-scale commercial excavation and construction projects. This role blends technical expertise with leadership—balancing hands-on estimating, project management, and mentoring of junior team members. You’ll help shape project outcomes while contributing to a collaborative, people-focused culture that values growth and excellence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare, review, and manage construction project estimates.
  • Lead project budgeting, bidding, and contract oversight to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of estimators and others withing the company
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and union contract requirements.
  • Track project performance, scheduling, and costs; resolve issues proactively to keep projects on time and within budget.
  • Investigate risks, recommend corrective measures, and implement solutions.
  • Maintain accurate reports and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management a plus
  • 7–10 years of progressive estimating and project management experience.
  • Strong background in construction materials and road construction.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); working knowledge of Viewpoint, Primavera, MicroStation, Inroads, HCSS HeavyBid, and basic surveying/measuring equipment.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and technical skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and foresee project challenges.
  • Insurable driving record.
