Title: Senior Director of Data Engineering & AI

Salary: $250,000-300,000 + Bonus + Stock

This is a full-time position, not eligible for C2C or C2H.

I have partnered with a leading consumer brand looking to hire a Senior Director of Engineering to drive their Intelligence Engineering capabilities. This org serves as the data and AI backbone for the company, processing billions of transactions, delivering advanced analytics and GenAI solutions.

This role will drive cross-functional teams to build scalable, cost-efficient, and high-quality data products that empower employees, stakeholders, and customers alike.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in large-scale data/analytics leadership; 7+ years managing multi-team organizations.
• Proven success delivering production AI/ML systems and modern data platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Kafka, dbt, Airflow).
• Expertise in data governance, FinOps, and privacy-by-design (GDPR/DSAR, SOX).
• Strong communicator able to align executives and engineers around a shared data/AI vision.
• Hands-on with modern AI stack (Snowflake Cortex, vector databases, LangChain); experience in big tech companies or SaaS organizations preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the Intelligence Leads charter, aligning strategy, OKRs, and cross-functional initiatives across data, AI, and governance.
• Drive Snowflake migration, real-time streaming, and cost optimization across cloud platforms.
• Define and execute vision for AI/ML products (RAG chatbots, forecasting, fraud detection) with strong ethical and governance frameworks.
• Oversee vendor strategy, budget management, and team structure to optimize delivery and scalability.
• Hire, mentor, and develop top talent while reporting on performance, spend, and impact to senior leadership.
