Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Manage all aspects of safety on a project level including jobsite inspections, employee orientation, training, documentation, accident investigation and emergency response coordination. Manager will also participate in developing, modifying, and implementing company Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and standards. This position will be responsible for driving a culture of safety excellence.

Market Sector: Working knowledge in the multi-family family, wood frame industry a HUGE plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Management of Safety and Industrial Hygiene operations in area of responsibility.
  2. Responsible for overseeing section budget, goals, and performance.
  3. Participates in the development and implementation of company EH&S policies and standards.
  4. Reviews employee safety programs and conducts/coordinates worker training in areas relating to safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition recognition/monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
  5. Works with project teams and clients to develop site specific orientations and EH&S programs. Prepares project specific environmental, health, and safety procedures.
  6. Develops, manages, and monitors standards, processes, communications, and training to help ensure a safe workplace limiting risk to employee health and welfare.
  7. Performs leadership role in incident investigations and Worker’s Compensation case management.
  8. Inspects and evaluates workplace environments, equipment, and construction practices to help ensure compliance with LeChase safety standards and government regulations.
  9. Ensures all required safety information as required by the local, state, and federal agencies are posted on all projects in area of responsibility.
  10. Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required. College degree in Environmental Health & Safety or relevant field preferred.
  • Certification in industrial hygiene preferred.
  • OSHA 500 Certified Safety Professional & CHST preferred.
  • Minimum of OSHA 30 training required.
  • 5+ years of construction safety experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of safety policies and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of OSHA & DOL Regulations
  • Ability to conduct training with both large and small groups.Training to include safety orientation, OSHA 10 & 30 along with any site-specific training required.
  • Positive attitude, professional appearance, and ability to work as a team member, communicate with others, and share responsibility to work towards common goals.
  • Exhibit proactive work habits and desire to succeed.
  • Ability to work well within a project team

  1. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
