Job Description

Café Zaffri, located within the Michelin Key-awarded The Twenty Two Hotel NYC and part of Elizabeth Street Hospitality, is seeking a talented and motivated Pastry Sous Chef to join our team.

This is a unique opportunity to help build and shape a new pastry program in a recently opened, design-forward hotel. We’re looking for someone who is excited to grow with the team , take ownership, and contribute to the creative and operational development of a multi-outlet pastry department.

You’ll work closely with a Michelin-experienced Executive Pastry Chef , gaining mentorship in leadership, menu development, and refined execution. The pastry program spans Café Zaffri, Members Club, In-Room Dining, Amenities, and Events—offering a dynamic and diverse platform for creativity and growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily pastry production and service across all outlets

• Collaborate on seasonal menus, amenities, and event offerings

• Train and mentor pastry cooks and junior team members

• Maintain high standards of quality, cleanliness, and organization

• Assist with prep lists, ordering, and inventory management

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional pastry experience

• Strong technical foundation in pastry, including laminated doughs, ice cream, and cake decorating

• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

• Hotel or multi-outlet experience is a plus

• Passion for creativity, precision, and continuous learning
