Job Description

Company Description

Eden Garden Design is an award-winning Landscape Design + Build Studio based in Austin, Texas, led by experienced principals dedicated to creating sustainable outdoor spaces. Specializing in residential and commercial projects, as well as urban meadows and land restoration, Eden focuses on designs that thrive in Texas' unique climate. The team collaborates closely with clients, architects, builders, and interior designers to craft customized Master Landscape Plans. Utilizing native and adaptive plants alongside high-quality hardscape materials, the studio emphasizes sustainability and innovation in every project. Eden offers a creative and collaborative environment where design excellence meets eco-conscious practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead conceptual and schematic design, as well as master planning for residential, commercial and hospitality projects within Eden’s design + build model.
  • Analyze site conditions (soil, ecology, hydrology, microclimate) and translate findings into informed, performative design solutions.
  • Select and specify plant palettes emphasizing Texas native and climate-adapted species.
  • Create compelling presentation materials - sketches, renderings, diagrams, and mood boards - tailored to each client’s vision.
  • Develop detailed construction documentation (hardscape, grading, planting, lighting) and coordinate closely with the build team to maintain design intent through installation.
  • Provide construction-phase support, including site visits, design adjustments, and quality control
  • Collaborate regularly with principals, project managers, contractors and broader project teams (architects, engineers, interior designers) to communicate concepts and drive alignment
  • Participate in client meetings throughout the design and build process, helping translate goals into actionable design direction.
  • Ensure design decisions reflect Eden’s commitment to ecological stewardship, long-term resilience, and maintenance feasibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture or design + build practice
  • Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or comparable tools for design, documentation and visualization.
  • Technical experience producing full drawing sets, including city code and permitting, construction details, hardscape systems, and material sourcing.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Genuine interest in ecological design, sustainability, and habitat creation.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
  • The chance to shape high-impact landscapes across Austin and beyond—projects grounded in ecological resilience, beauty, and exceptional client experience.
  • A workplace culture rooted in creativity, integrity, and respect—for our clients, our team, and the land.
