Russell Tobin Scientific is seeking a Lab Technician I for an American multinational conglomerate operating in the fields of industry, worker safety, healthcare, and consumer goods.

Job Title: Lab Technician I

Location: St. Paul, MN (on-site)

Job Type: Contract

Length: 8-Months

Hours: 6am-2pm, Mon-Fri

Pay Rate: $21.00 - $23.40 per hour

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join our Home Improvement Consumer Products lab team, with a specific focus on supporting high-priority projects. As a Lab Tech, you will play a crucial role in planning, preparing, and executing research activities, including prototyping and detailed data tracking, to ensure the quality and innovation of our consumer products.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with product development engineers to plan and prepare for research activities.
• Support the design and execution of experiments, pivoting on designs as needed to build and test prototypes.
• Conduct detailed data tracking and analysis to support research and development efforts.
• Prepare materials and organize for product testing, ensuring all necessary resources are available.
• Assist in laboratory experiments through testing and evaluation of new materials and products based on research.
• Perform mechanical performance tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products.
• Test or make visual observations on product samples from competitors and communicate test results to the appropriate requester.
• Conduct hands-on tests with multiple pieces of equipment.
• Move, arrange, sort, and hang product testing weights (2lbs-20lbs).

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Team worker with good physical mobility and dexterity, good observation skills, and excellent communication.
• Must have the ability to adapt and adjust to the team’s needs, especially in a dynamic research environment focused on prototyping and innovation.
• Able to work 6-2 M-F
• Ability to lift/carry at least 25 pounds.
• Proficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Preferences:

• Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, and results-driven.
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written & oral.
• Adaptability to team needs and working for many individuals in various groups.
• Prior laboratory or manufacturing experience.
• Experience using Excel and Word for data tracking and analysis.
• Proven ability to problem-solve and implement solutions.
• Ability to take instructions (verbal and written) and complete a task with little or no supervision.
