As the Elementary Pastor, your role is to cultivate a dynamic and age-appropriate discipleship environment for kids in grades K–6. Working as part of the Family Discipleship Team, you will help develop large group worship, small group curriculum, and unique experiences that help kids know Jesus and grow in community. You’ll also equip parents and volunteers to engage in the discipleship journey.

Primary Responsibilities

• Engaging Ministry Environments: Design and implement large and small group experiences that are fun, formative, and age-appropriate for elementary students (K-6th Grade)
• Weekly Curriculum & Communication: Develop weekly curriculum in collaboration with the Kid Min Team Lead. Communicate consistently with leaders and parents to support spiritual formation.
• Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, train, and support volunteers in executing Sunday morning and other ministry programming.
• Family Engagement: Build relationships with parents, offer pastoral care, and host discipleship conversations with students (salvation, baptism, etc.)
• Events & Special Experiences: Plan and lead key discipleship and outreach events, such as camps, retreats, and worship gatherings for K-6th Grade Students
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Family Discipleship Team to align vision, develop strategy, and support church-wide discipleship goals.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Actively participate in GPKids Team meetings
• Join with team to maintain GPKids budget
• All staff members should plan to participate in church wide events and lend their assistance and support to the total church programs
• Serve on rotation as On-Call Pastor

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Bible school or seminary a bonus)
• 2-3 years experience in a children’s ministry environment (preferred)
• A demonstrated, vibrant walk with Jesus
• Humble, yet passionate
• Coachable
• Highly relational and people focused
• Collaborative team player
• Aligns with GPC’s vision to be discipleship-minded
