Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Designer to join our Creation (design) Team. Our ideal candidate possesses a mastery of bra design & construction, from conceptualization through production. This position reports to the Design Director and supports the management of junior designers.

RESPONSABILITIES:

• Report to Design Director
• Oversee the bra sets & single ticket panty categories
• Manage junior designers
• Own developments, design through PO placement - including fashion research and cost engineering - while working closely with our Technical Design & Production partners
• Work with Merchandising Team to ensure assortment needs are met on a monthly & seasonal basis
• Focus on fashion bra sets & single ticket panty programs: developing new styles for key white spaces for our website, Elite customers, & marketplaces
• Incorporate sustainability into designs, while accounting for aesthetic, comfort, and cost
• Trend research, including competitive analysis and trend forecasting services
• Work with color palettes, CADs, lab dips, and color samples
• Partner with the Technical Design Team for design intent for fit pass offs. Strong communication with the Technical Design Team is necessary to see fit through to approval, including a full-size range
• Follow up on development information - cost, raw materials, pass-off dates, and deliver work on time for multiple calendar deadlines simultaneously

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design with a concentration in intimates
• 5-10 years of industry experience, with intimate apparel/ bra design experience a must
• Knowledge of:
• Bra design, construction, and fit: especially underwire & molded pads, ideally also in plus size ranges
• Ability to sketch & communicate design ideas & construction via Illustrator or Photoshop
• Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Google/Microsoft Suite (Slides, Sheets, Data Studio)
• Experience in:
• PLM systems to create and maintain product information
• Sustainability practices for design & production a plus
• Managing and mentoring junior team members
• Exemplary interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
• Highly motivated, collaborative
• Experience in a startup is an extra plus!
• Attention to detail, extremely organized, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
• “I’ll find a way!” mindset, where you can leverage your autonomy within your role to think outside the box
• Ability to work on-site at our offices in SoHo on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays is considered an essential part of this role
