Job Description

Behavioral Health Therapist (LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCPC)

Schedule: Full-Time | Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | No weekends

Overview:

Join a collaborative behavioral health team providing therapeutic services for patients in a mental health and/or substance abuse treatment setting. This role focuses on psychosocial assessments, individualized treatment planning, counseling, documentation, and discharge coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify treatment needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
  • Facilitate group, individual, and family therapy sessions
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and family/support meetings
  • Coordinate discharge planning using internal and external resources
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with legal and clinical standards
  • Attend court hearings and report to state/community agencies when required
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient case discussions
  • Float to alternate units or locations based on census/staffing needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Active Illinois license (LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCPC)
  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or related mental health field
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in a behavioral health setting (2+ years preferred)
  • Certifications: CPR (AHA or Red Cross); CPI within 90 days of hire

Required Skills:

  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
  • Ability to maintain therapeutic boundaries and manage crisis situations
  • Proficiency in medical record documentation and case coordination
  • Knowledge of community resources, including residential and recovery programs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
