Job Description

General Summary

To support the selling process by preparing layouts and quotes for the sales staff, manage the customer order files by building effective internal and external relationships in an effort to facilitate profitable sales of kitchen & bath cabinets, and countertops on a day to day basis while meeting or exceeding sales and expense targets.

Essential Job Functions

1. Prepare layouts, quotes and bids for sales staff by creating simple to moderate designs with little supervision.
2. Retrieve frame measurements and color selections from scheduling/tracking tool and review for accuracy and completeness.
3. Use frame measurements to create drawings of countertops and cabinets in AutoCAD and 20/20.
4. Approve the designs prior to ordering materials.
5. Review the contract to make sure all information matches.
6. Create cabinet and countertop templates for contract estimations.
7. Timely provide detailed estimates to Salespersons and Production Coordinators.
8. Validate JDE information against bid to ensure within acceptable allowance.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

1. Knowledge of the selling process and bid preparation
2. Excellent oral and written communication skills
3. Proactive problem solving skills
4. Technical aptitude and ability to understand the construction business
5. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
6. Effective communication and organization skills
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel required
8. Fundamental mathematic comprehension required.
9. Familiarity with Oracle or JD Edwards software a plus.

Education & Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Formal technical design training from trade school or program; degree in design, business or related field, relevant experience preferred.
3. 1 to 3 years of experience in kitchen layout and design.
4. Prior experience in 20/20 or AutoCAD required.

Other Requirements

1. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
2. The employee is required to use hands to operate a computer keyboard.
3. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
4. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
5. Travel required: negligible
