Nanny Position – Warm, Steady Presence for a Wonderful 13-Year-Old
Start Date: December 1st, 2025
Location: 507 S Wayne St, Arlington, VA 22204
Child: Teen boy – age 13, bright, funny, creative kid who has ADHD, dyslexia, and some anxiety. He attends The Lab School of Washington in the Palisades area.
Family Note: The child's dad passed away, and the family is looking for a caregiver who can offer steadiness, empathy, and genuine connection. Reliability and timeliness are especially important.
This family is seeking a warm, friendly nanny who can relate well to a 13-year-old and support him in his daily routines. Someone who is patient, calm, and attuned to a child’s emotional world will be a great fit. The job involves after-school support, light household help, and occasional overnights when mom travels.
Typical Responsibilities:
Pick up young teen boy from school in Georgetown
Support him with a short daily dog-walking job near school
Drive him home to Arlington
Help start or prep dinner
Provide structure, encouragement, and companionship
Occasional overnight care (mom travels for work)
Immediate Need:
Mom will be traveling in December, so availability for coverage that day is essential.
Flexibility:
The family’s routines can shift at times, so they hope to find someone who is adaptable and comfortable with schedule changes.
Warm, approachable, and able to build easy rapport with tweens/teens
Confident supporting a child with ADHD, dyslexia, and anxiety
Dependable with excellent punctuality
Safe, responsible driver
Comfortable with occasional overnights
Steady, empathetic presence during a period of family transition
