Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, education, or related fields preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively and positively with students, staff, and visitors.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and observation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and follow established procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include, but are not limited to)

Parking Lot Patrol

  • Conduct regular walks through the parking lot several times daily to ensure student safety.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity and report concerns promptly.
  • Report safety or behavioral concerns to the administration.

Building Security

  • Ensure all exterior doors remain closed and secure; report any doors that are propped open.
  • Conduct periodic checks of entrances and exits, particularly during class transitions and lunch periods.

Hall and Bathroom Monitoring

  • Conduct regular checks of hallways and bathrooms to ensure proper student use and safety.
  • Escort students who have lost pass privileges as needed.
  • Address inappropriate behaviors discreetly and report issues to the administration.

Supervision

  • Assist with monitoring the hallways, specifically around lunchtime and passing periods.
  • Promote respectful and appropriate student behavior.
  • Report safety or behavorial concerns to the administration.

Camera Monitoring

  • Monitor security camera feeds for potential safety issues or suspicious activity.
  • Report incidents or concerns to the administration promptly.
