Rajsamand: Rajsamand MLA Deepti Kiran Maheshwari participated in the inaugural session of the "Legislative Pride Journey: Former and Present Members' Conclave", organised to commemorate 75 years of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. The event was attended by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, along with current and former legislators.
Addressing the occasion, Maheshwari said that the 75-year journey of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly represents an inspiring legacy of democratic values, strong public representation, and people-centric governance.
She said that over the past seven decades, the Assembly has strengthened democracy through several landmark legislative decisions aimed at promoting development, good governance, and public welfare in the state. She added that the gathering of former and current legislators provided an important opportunity to inspire the younger generation with the Assembly's parliamentary traditions, historic achievements, and constitutional responsibilities.
Maheshwari said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is giving priority to the dignity of democratic institutions, transparency, and public participation while accelerating Rajasthan's development. She stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the vision of good governance, public welfare, and development is being effectively implemented across the state.
She also criticised previous Congress governments, alleging that they undermined democratic institutions, prioritised political interests over public welfare, and weakened public trust.
The MLA said that preserving the proud legacy of democracy while remaining committed to development, public service, and constitutional values is the responsibility of every elected representative. She added that the celebration further strengthens the collective resolve to build a developed, prosperous, and people-centric Rajasthan.
